A lifelong Connecticut resident, Tamara earned her Master’s degree in Business Administration, Summa Cum Laude, from the University of New Haven (2002) and a Bachelor of Arts degree in Communications from the University of Connecticut (1993). Tamara has over 20 years’ experience in the marketing communications and business finance industry. At Mason Inc., the New Haven-based advertising and public relations firm, she worked in various capacities including administrative, new business, public relations and special event planning.

In addition to her corporate background, Tamara has extensive experience working

with not-for-profit organizations that focus on underrepresented and underserved populations. As staff Accountant at New Reach Inc., formerly New Haven Home Recovery, she coordinated accounts receivable/payable, provided grant reporting at local, state and federal levels, worked directly with Program Directors on program budgets, and ensured that managers could deliver immediate financial support services to women, children and families experiencing homelessness, domestic violence, physical/mental illness and HIV in Connecticut. As a Job Development Specialist with Easter Seals Goodwill Industries in New Haven, CT she formed collaborative partnerships between business, industry and rehabilitation in order to place individuals with disabilities, special needs and other barriers to employment and education in business settings and educational environments that matched their skills, abilities, and interests. As a Program Associate & Resource Specialist with The Wellness Community-Greater Boston she was able to work with the Program Director to design, implement, monitor and market programs that met the needs of cancer patients, their family members and friends.

Tamara has a passion for volunteering and is skilled at providing business consultant services for small to medium sized businesses throughout Connecticut. A Certified "Woman-Owned, Small/Minority Business Enterprise" within the State of Connecticut, Simpson Creative Concepts, LLC allows Tamara to combine her background in business management, finance and accounting, the knack for creative marketing communications, her experience as a paralegal and the love of event planning. She has been licensed  Notary Public in the State of Connecticut since 2005 and studied Spanish for 7 years. She is a member of American Institute of Professional Bookkeepers, and a licensed and registered Tax Preparer. In the past she served as Chapter Administrator for the Southern CT Public Relations Society of America and Publicity Chair for the CT Walk for Food Allergy. Tamara brings a can-do attitude, diverse marketing skills and solid financial business acumen to her clients.
